ThrillTech Pioneers as the First Specialised Jackpot Provider in Greece

Greece Was Not an Easy Market to Access

The Hellenic Gaming Commission has set up quite a rigorous entry requirement for technology providers. The applicants need to have their incorporation within the European Economic Area; they need to have RNG certification by any of the approved laboratories like GLI or iTech Labs and have to adhere to ISO 27001 standards regarding information security. The Category A1 Manufacturer’s Licence that is applicable to the creators of RNG gaming software is the one that ThrillTech received. This licence lasts for seven years, one of the longer licences in the regulated European markets.

ThrillTech received the licence on 31 July 2026. Giles Potter, the chief marketing officer of ThrillTech, said: “As we keep growing internationally, we are particularly proud of this license, since it makes ThrillTech the first iGaming jackpot provider of its kind to receive a license in Greece. We are excited about entering the market and showing how our side-bet jackpot game mechanics provide great new player experiences, as well as substantial revenues for our partners.”

No other specialist jackpot provider holds this classification in Greece. Traditional jackpot products are embedded inside certified game titles and covered by a game studio’s own licence. ThrillTech’s product sits outside that structure entirely, which is why the HGC’s A1 category applies to it, and why no equivalent provider had obtained it before.

Why Must ThrillTech License Its Own RNG?

Most B2B suppliers rely on their operator partners to hold the regulatory permissions that cover the full product stack. ThrillTech cannot do that, because its jackpot technology operates independently of any operator’s core casino or betting products. Players choose to opt in by placing a small additional stake alongside normal gameplay. Those contributions pool into a jackpot whose outcome is determined solely by ThrillTech’s proprietary random number generator, not by the host game.

As the RNG is an asset of ThrillTech, the regulator demands that ThrillTech have the license for it. ThrillPots does not affect the mathematical algorithms of the underlying game, does not modify its return to player ratio, and does not necessitate the certification process for the host game. Operators would benefit from having an extra source of revenue on top of their already certified games. This will help the regulator create a clear distinction between the compliance of the host game and the compliance of the jackpots layer.

Eleven Regulated Markets within Two Years

The operations of ThrillTech began in 2023, and the launch of ThrillPots took place midway through 2023. The first set of licenses for ThrillTech under the B2B classification for Sweden, Romania, and Malta was purchased in June 2024. Thereafter, the UK Gambling Commission license was acquired, followed by the Netherlands, Brazil, and Peru. Gibraltar became the ninth country in June 2026, when the company secured its license under the Gambling Act of 2025. This is the first time the Gambling Act introduced a different path for the licensing of technology providers as opposed to equipment only. Greece is now the tenth country after Ontario granted ThrillTech its Gaming-Related Supplier license in July 2026.

Each approval required independent RNG certification, separate from whatever licences the host operators hold. Benjamin Bradtke, co-founder of ThrillTech, commented on the Ontario milestone in terms that apply to every jurisdiction on that list: “Securing our AGCO licence is a major step in our mission to transform how jackpots are delivered at scale across regulated markets. This latest certification is testament to our robust technology and trusted compliance frameworks.”

What Changes for Greek Operators?

The official start of the regulated online gaming industry in Greece took place in 2022, and the HGC regulates licensing of both gaming operators and the technology used by them. If the supplier is not licensed by the HGC, it cannot legally offer its products to Greek licensed operators. The Category A1 status of ThrillTech means that ThrillPots do not need any additional one-off license for the RNG part of their product.

ThrillTech’s June 2026 global partnership with Super Technologies, which operates brands across Romania, Poland, Serbia, Greece, and Brazil, already included a planned ThrillPots rollout across Super’s Greek properties. The HGC licence converts that from a planned deployment to a permitted one.

Commercial Momentum Behind the Regulatory Push

The Greek approval does not sit in isolation. In July 2025, ThrillTech signed a global partnership with Betsson Group to deploy ThrillPots across the Betsson, Betsafe, and NordicBet brands. Karl Schranz, director of gaming at Betsson Group, said ThrillPots “enhances both acquisition and retention without compromising our core gameplay.” Betsson is already licensed in Greece, which means the HGC approval may also affect the scope of that deal at the local level.

Giles Potter joined ThrillTech as chief marketing officer in April 2026, arriving from Bragg Gaming Group where he served as CMO for five years. His appointment preceded a run of regulatory approvals, first Gibraltar, then Ontario, now Greece, across three months. Amy Santos was also named chief operating officer ahead of the Greek launch, adding operational leadership as the company moves from market entry announcements to active deployments.

ThrillTech’s self-licensing model is the core of its competitive position, and the Greek approval illustrates why. By holding a direct Category A1 licence from the HGC, ThrillTech can supply Greek operators immediately, without depending on individual operator relationships to navigate local compliance. That matters in a market where the regulator scrutinises every component of the gambling product stack.

The pace of expansion tells its own story. Eleven regulated jurisdictions in under two years, each requiring independent RNG certification, reflects a compliance infrastructure built for scale from the outset. For other B2B jackpot providers, the question is no longer whether ThrillTech’s approach works; the Greek approval confirms it does. The question is whether competitors can replicate that licensing footprint fast enough to contest the markets ThrillTech is entering with operator partners already in place.
