SkillOnNet’s website failed to display the required responsible gaming logos. Sweden’s Gambling Authority (Spelinspektionen) issued a formal remark to SkillOnNet recently. The operator’s website lacked mandatory responsible gaming logos during inspection. Primecasino left out logos for post, deposit rules, login procedures and gambling suspension. These symbols should be present on all licensed gambling sites.
Section 17 of the Safer Gambling Regulations and General Guidelines (LIFS 2018:2) requires these logos. Spelinspektionen ordered SkillOnNet to add missing logos immediately. The logo must stay locked at the website’s top permanently. Patrik Gustavsson, Head of Department at Spelinspektionen, signed this decision. Sweden’s gaming regulator can ban operators and issue fines. Operators breaking local gaming regulations face these penalties.
Director General Camilla Rosenberg left Spelinspektionen in September 2024. She joined another national regulator after her departure. Johan Röhr replaced her in the position quickly. Her exit surprised many people in the industry. Spelinspektionen released its channelisation report before Rosenberg left. The market showed an 85% channelisation rate according to findings. 15% of Swedish gaming happens through unregulated operators currently. This falls 5% below the government’s target rate.
Online casinos showed the worst channelisation rate between 72%-82%. This sector needs improvement to reach regulatory goals. Authorities continue investigating these channelisation problems across Sweden. The Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling criticises the government’s inquiry. They believe the investigation lacks proper scope and depth.
