Polymarket Named Official MLS Prediction Market Partner

Polymarket has secured a new multi-year partnership with Soccer United Marketing, becoming the official and exclusive prediction market partner of Major League Soccer and the Leagues Cup tournament. The agreement also covers the MLS All-Star Game and the MLS Cup.

This partnership marks a prominent integration of prediction markets into a major professional sports league in the United States.

MLS Deputy Commissioner and Soccer United Marketing President Gary Stevenson said “As MLS continues to grow, innovation remains central to how we engage fans and evolve the league,” Stevenson said. “Partnering with Polymarket allows us to integrate prediction markets as a new fan engagement format and position MLS as an early leader among global soccer properties.”

Focus on fan engagement and digital activations

Under the agreement, Polymarket will work closely with MLS to develop new digital fan engagement initiatives across league platforms. These activations will include enhancements to the live match experience and second-screen engagement features. Prediction markets are meant to improve real-time fan interactions without altering the competitive structure of the sport.

Polymarket Founder and CEO Shayne Coplan also commented on the collaboration. “As soccer’s audience continues to grow and evolve in the US, fans are looking for new ways to engage more deeply with the game. This partnership allows us to surface real-time collective sentiment around key moments and matches, giving fans a more interactive way to experience the sport.”

Safeguards introduced to protect match integrity

The agreement includes a series of safeguards to protect match integrity, including the independent monitoring of trading activity and direct collaborations between Polymarket and league stakeholders.

These measures are designed to ensure prediction markets remain a fan engagement tool rather than a source of integrity risk. Monitoring processes will identify irregular activity and respond quickly if concerns arise.

Part of a broader expansion strategy for 2026

The partnership is set to kick off ahead of the 2026 MLS season, scheduled for 21 February. MLS will become the first global soccer league to formally integrate prediction market insights into its fan experience.

For Polymarket, the deal forms part of a broader expansion strategy heading into 2026. The operator has recently announced partnerships with Dow Jones, the New York Rangers NHL franchise, and the Golden Globes awards show.

These agreements signal Polymarket’s intent to position prediction markets as a mainstream engagement tool across sports, media, and live events.
