Nebraska’s five licensed casinos generated $25.9 million in gross gaming revenue in September 2026, an increase of 17.9% compared with the same month last year, according to the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission.
Four properties reported annual growth, with WarHorse Omaha remaining the largest contributor. Slots provided most revenue, while traditional table games recorded faster growth. However, September’s statewide total was below the $28.1 million recorded in July and $27.5 million in August.
Slot Machines Lead Revenue While Traditional Table Games Grow Faster
Slot revenue reached $21.9 million, rising 15.9% from September 2025. Traditional table games contributed $2.6 million, with annual growth of 40.8%.
Electronic table games generated $666,115, compared with $624,576 a year earlier, representing growth of almost 7%. Retail sports betting added $700,052 in revenue retained by operators, rather than the total amount wagered by customers.
Although electronic tables and sportsbooks contributed to the overall result, slots and traditional table games remained the main sources of revenue. September’s figures showed annual growth across these categories despite the lower statewide total compared with the preceding two months.
WarHorse Omaha And Lincoln Maintain Their Positions As Leading Casinos
WarHorse Casino Omaha generated approximately $10.2 million, up 26.6% year on year. Its gaming tax contribution reached $2.04 million, making it the largest revenue-producing property among Nebraska’s five licensed casinos.
WarHorse Casino Lincoln ranked second with $7.2 million, an increase of 12.4% from September 2025. Gaming taxes from the property totalled almost $1.44 million. Under the allocation mechanism, the City of Lincoln and Lancaster County each received $180,600.
Grand Island Casino Resort followed with $5.2 million in revenue, an annual increase of 18.5%. Together, these results accounted for gains at three of the four properties that improved on their September 2025 performance.
Lake Mac More Than Doubles Revenue As Harrah’s Columbus Declines
Lake Mac Casino & Resort in Ogallala generated $1.3 million, compared with $527,419 a year earlier. Despite this increase, it remained the smallest of Nebraska’s five casinos by September revenue.
Lake Mac opened in August 2025, making September that year its first full operating month. Consequently, the latest increase partly reflects comparison with an early stage of the business.
Harrah’s Columbus moved in the opposite direction, reporting around $1.9 million, down 4.1%. Gaming taxes from the property reached $378,187. Columbus was the only casino to report lower annual revenue. However, its September result alone does not establish whether the decline represents a sustained trend.
Nine-Month Revenue Reaches $240.91 Million As Nebraska’s Market Develops
Nebraska casinos generated $240.91 million in gross gaming revenue during the first nine months of 2026.
For comparison, full-year revenue exceeded $261 million in 2025, against $145 million in 2024. WarHorse Omaha contributed $95 million last year, while Grand Island generated around $55 million and Harrah’s Columbus more than $25 million.
Casino development followed constitutional amendments approved by Nebraska voters in 2020. Just over 65% supported allowing casino gaming at licensed racetracks, and the state’s first casino opened in September 2022.
Gaming Tax Allocations Support Property Tax Relief And Local Government
Nebraska taxes gross gaming revenue at 20%, producing about $5.17 million in September collections.
Under the distribution formula, 70% goes to the Property Tax Credit Cash Fund. Host cities and counties each receive 12.5%, while the State General Fund and Compulsive Gamblers Assistance Fund each receive 2.5%.
Gaming taxes totalled $48.18 million through September. Allocations included $33.73 million for property tax relief and approximately $6.02 million each for host cities and counties. Both the General Fund and gambling assistance fund received around $1.20 million.
Nebraska’s annual gains indicate continued market development, but comparisons need to distinguish established casinos from newer properties. Lake Mac’s growth has a separate meaning to WarHorse Omaha’s due to their different operating histories. Monthly declines also caution against treating annual expansion as uninterrupted momentum.
