Key Points
- Evenbeter now runs over 200 projects across 41 countries, serving 48 million players through a workforce of more than 250 specialists from 20 nationalities.
- Five-year B2B supplier licences secured from Sweden’s Spelinspektionen (July 2026) and Denmark’s Spillemyndigheden (May 2026) give Evenbeter a fully compliant route into two of Europe’s tightest regulated gambling markets.
- The rebrand follows Spins Poker’s November 2025 launch, which was built to lift operator GGR by up to 14.7%, and two new cash game mechanics released just 14 days before the name change.
EvenBet Gaming Retires Its Name – What Took So Long?
Renaming a 25-year-old business is not a small decision, and iGaming companies rarely do it without a very good reason. On 26 August 2026, EvenBet Gaming officially became Evenbeter, announcing what the company describes as a transformation across its entire identity, not just a change of name. The curious part is not that it happened. It is how clearly the signals had been building for months before anyone made it official.
Founded in 2001 by Dmitry Starostenkov as a custom software development firm, the company wrote its first online poker product in 2004 and launched its first live poker project in 2006. For years, that poker-first identity held. Then the product portfolio expanded, the workforce tripled, the client base spanned 41 countries, and the name quietly stopped fitting the business underneath it.
A Supplier That Had Already Changed Before the Announcement
The most revealing detail in this rebrand is not the new name. It is the product timeline that ran through the twelve months before it.
In November 2025, EvenBet Gaming unveiled Spins Poker, described as the first commercially available product of its kind in the market. Built as a hybrid of poker and slot mechanics, Spins Poker was designed specifically for sportsbooks losing revenue between live events and for casinos struggling with expensive player acquisition. The numbers attached to it were notable: the format was projected to boost operator GGR by up to 14.7% and reduce player churn by 10%. Research from France’s poker market backed that claim, showing the Spins format had already accounted for 94% of the country’s €349.5 million Sit & Go GGR in 2024.
This single product was enough to indicate that the company had moved far beyond its original niche. But it did not stop there. On 12 August 2026, only 14 days prior to the announcement of the rebrand, EvenBet Gaming introduced two more configurable mechanics of cash games for all operator partners – Straddle from Any Position and No Look All-In. These mechanics can be activated separately on each individual table by means of the back-office system without the need to change the entire platform. According to the CTO Alexander Tamplon, “the introduction of Straddle from any position and No Look All-In will provide our partners with an instrument for eliminating the table routine and engaging players to achieve maximum revenue.”
Stacked together, these product moves paint a company that had already become a cross-vertical supplier. The rebrand formalised what the product portfolio had been saying for months.
Two Nordic Licences That Opened Closed Doors
Regulatory timing matters as much as branding in iGaming, and Evenbeter’s Nordic expansion is the part of this story that most coverage has underweighted.
Denmark is not just any market where gambling operators or software suppliers would come in easily. From 1 January 2025, the Danish state requires mandatory licensing of gambling software suppliers, implying that locally licensed gambling operators have to purchase the software and platform technology only from licensed B2B suppliers. EvenBet Gaming obtained a five-year B2B licence as a supplier from Spillemyndigheden, which regulates gambling in Denmark, in May 2026 and this licence includes poker software, a turnkey casino platform, as well as a complete set of casino content: roulette, baccarat, blackjack, punto banco, bingo, and slots. Without the approval of this body, there was no possibility to obtain this software legally in Denmark, but with it, the entrance to this market became open.
Sweden followed in July 2026, granting Evenbeter a five-year B2B supplier licence from Spelinspektionen. These two licences mean that gambling operators can enter both Nordic markets with the help of one fully legalised and regulated partner. Evenbeter also possesses a B2B licence from the Malta Gaming Authority and maintains offices in Malta, the US, Serbia, and Armenia.
The Scale Behind the Name
By the date of the rebrand, the business operating under the EvenBet Gaming name looked nothing like the poker software supplier it had originally been. Evenbeter now powers more than 200 active projects across 41 countries, reaching a combined player base of 48 million. Its workforce has grown to more than 250 specialists representing 20 nationalities, a figure the company describes as a tripling from an earlier period of growth.
That scale required a different way of working internally, too. Management moved away from what the company calls intuitive management, introducing structured processes and shared values to hold a growing international team together. A dedicated Customer Success function was built to standardise long-term operator support, replacing a more reactive model.
What the New Name Means for Operators?
The commercial message built into the Evenbeter rebrand is direct. Operators integrating today gain access to poker software, a turnkey casino platform, and a game aggregator through a single point of contact. For those in Sweden and Denmark specifically, the Nordic licences remove the compliance barrier that had previously blocked that integration entirely.
CEO Dmitry Starostenkov put it this way: “The transition from EvenBet Gaming to Evenbeter is about evolution, not reinvention. Over the years, both our technology and the businesses built around it have expanded significantly. The rebranding reflects an evolution across the whole company, not simply a change of name or an expansion of the product portfolio, but a transformation in how we develop our products, work with clients, operate as an international team and present ourselves to the industry.”
Starostenkov continued: “Poker remains at the heart of our business, while our turnkey casino platform and game aggregator extend the ways we can support our clients. The expertise, reliability and commitment our partners have always trusted remain unchanged. EvenBet Gaming just got Evenbeter.”
One Click Poker, a simplified format designed to bring casual casino and sportsbook players into poker, stays central to the product strategy. Combined with the turnkey casino platform and game aggregator, Evenbeter now offers operators a path to retain players across multiple verticals through a single integration, which matters most in markets where cross-vertical player engagement drives long-term revenue.
Expert Analysis
We find the timing of this rebrand more interesting than the rebrand itself. The honest question is why it took this long. By November 2025, with the Spins Poker launch and its cross-vertical mechanics, Evenbeter had already stopped being a poker supplier in any meaningful commercial sense. The Nordic licences in May and July 2026 were the final structural pieces. The name change in August arrived last. In that sequence, the rebrand reads less like a bold strategic move and more like a company catching up with its own evolution, which is not a criticism; it is just the more accurate reading of events. What we will be watching closely is how quickly Nordic operators act on the now-compliant supply route. Sweden and Denmark are high-value markets, but they are also demanding ones. Winning tier-one partnerships there requires a track record, not just a licence, and Evenbeter will need to convert its regulatory access into signed operator agreements before this chapter can fairly be called a success.
