DraftKings Inc. Launches Puerto Rico Online Sportsbook for Registered Residents

Key Points

  • DraftKings Inc. launched its Puerto Rico online sportsbook on February 23, requiring registration at Foxwoods El San Juan Casino.
  • The app offers parlays, live betting, and odds boosts across MLB, NFL, and NBA with shared responsible gaming efforts.
  • DraftKings and FanDuel applied for Arkansas retail sports betting approval.

DraftKings announced all this in a corporate press release, laying out its plans to launch the online sportsbook for Puerto Rico’s local market on February 23, 2026.

Retail Sportsbook Remains Open to Visitors After November 2025 Launch

As of 23 February, residents in Puerto Rico gained entry to an online sportsbook platform, reflecting a measured extension of the island’s legal betting framework. To activate accounts, users must first register face-to-face at Foxwoods El San Juan Casino, which remains a mandatory compliance requirement. Individuals who do not live locally cannot use the online system, yet they may still place bets at the casino’s on-site retail wagering facility. Back in November 2025, the operator launched a physical sportsbook right at that spot, setting the stage before digital betting took off. Now, approved users dive into features like same-game parlays, live bets, and odds boosts, covering all the big leagues: MLB, NFL, and NBA. “Sports are woven into Puerto Rican life. Bringing our online sportsbook here lets us meet fans where they already live and breathe the action,” said Gregory Karamitis, DraftKings Executive Vice President and General Manager of Sports. Since retail betting operates at Foxwoods El San Juan Casino, the mobile launch represents the next stage in strengthening the DraftKings footprint throughout the island. It delivers a direct and responsible option for eligible local users, while the company continues mobile and retail betting in 29 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and Ontario, Canada.

DraftKings Expands iGaming Under Golden Nugget Online Gaming and Core Brand

It continues to operate iGaming platforms in five states and Ontario under the DraftKings brand, while it runs similar services in four states and Ontario under its Golden Nugget Online Gaming brand. With the launch, the company makes responsible gaming tools available, including My Budget Builder and My Stat Sheet, which players can find in the Responsible Gaming Centre. Such measures underline a collective responsibility upheld by DraftKings, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation, and Foxwoods El San Juan Casino. The retail sportsbook within Foxwoods El San Juan Casino remains owned and operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation.

On 19 February, both FanDuel and DraftKings lodged separate bids to access Arkansas’ regulated land-based sports betting sector. Confirmation came from a spokesperson at the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, who verified the applications. If approval is granted, the companies will be free to partner up with any of the three sportsbooks currently operating in the state, Oaklawn Casino in Hot Springs, Saracen Casino in Pine Bluff, or Southland Casino in West Memphis. Meanwhile DraftKings still gets to keep on running daily fantasy sports in Arkansas, for now at least, although the Arkansas Racing Commission is expected to finally make a decision on that soon.
