BGaming Confirms Return Of Annual Charity Gala in Malta

BGaming has announced the return of its annual Charity Gala, scheduled for 29 May 2026 at The Phoenicia Hotel. The event enters its second year supporting DAR Bjorn, a Maltese organisation caring for people living with ALS, MS and other severe neurological conditions.

Last year’s inaugural edition raised €200,000, helping fund the construction of DAR Bjorn’s new Respite Centre. The 2026 event hopes to build on this with a renewed fundraising target for medical support and patient care infrastructure.

Fundraising targets medical equipment and resident care

According to BGaming, all funds raised during the event will be contributed towards the new Respite Centre. Planned purchases include ventilators, motorised beds, hoist lifters, oxygen concentrators and air mattresses.

The initiative will also support the funding of four resident rooms to accommodate additional admissions. BGaming stated that all event production expenses will be covered separately, ensuring donations are allocated to DAR Bjorn.

The organisation was founded by Bjorn Formosa, who previously worked in iGaming before being diagnosed with ALS at 28. DAR Bjorn currently supports around 60 residents across two facilities and provides community support to nearly 800 individuals.

Malta event unites iGaming and business leaders

The gala will take place at the Bastion Pool area of The Phoenicia Hotel. It is expected to bring together top figures in iGaming, local businesses and philanthropic organisations.

The event is being held in partnership with NEXT.io as official media partner, with Joseph Chetcuti as the host.

Entertainment plans include live performances by Versatile, plus an art performance and auction involving artists L7Matrix and Gonçalo MAR. The programme will also feature a charity raffle and additional fundraising activities.

Industry partners support 2026 charity initiative

Several industry companies have already confirmed support for the event, including Flutter Entertainment, Alea and SiGMA. MyAffiliates joined as a Silver Partner, while Amusnet Gaming, 1spin4win and Finteq Hub signed on as Bronze Partners.

“Last year’s Gala showed us what is possible when our industry comes together around a shared purpose. Raising €200,000 in a single evening was a remarkable achievement and provided real, tangible support to the people at DAR Bjorn who need it most,” Marina Ostrovtsova said.

“Returning for a second year with an even greater ambition is something we are incredibly proud of. The funds we raise this year will go toward equipment that directly improves residents’ quality of life. These donations are the difference between comfort and hardship for people living with serious neurological conditions, and we hope both the iGaming community and the wider Maltese community will once again stand with us.”

Bgaming once again brings a human side to iGaming with the return of its annual charity gala. The company will be using the proceeds to fund a new Respite centre for DAR Bjorn, equipped with ventilators, oxygen concentrators, motorised beds, and other amenities.
