In June, Arizona sportsbook user spending dropped to its lowest point since August 2024. The Arizona Department of Gaming said handle and revenue both increased year over year. Event wagering receipts for June reached $543 million, a total 19.6% higher than for June last year, but 23.1% less than the $707.1 million posted in May. Online betting made up $540 million of the entire handle, with retail betting adding only $2.6 million.
From sports betting, Arizona returned $478.8 million to players. Adjusted gross receipts stayed at $67.3 million after subtracting $16.8 million in free bets and promos, leaving $50.5 million, which was 59.8% up yearly and just 2.5% below May. For June, online activity generated $49.6 million of the final total and retail betting brought in $881,856. The state’s sports betting hold for June stood at 9.29%, based on these adjusted numbers.
FanDuel Leads Arizona Market in June
FanDuel, part of Flutter, earned the top spot in Arizona for sportsbook revenue this month. Its handle reached $177.6 million and brought in post-free bet receipts of $18 million, showing a hold of 10.14%. DraftKings took second place with $158.5 million handle, earning $14.6 million and posting a 9.21% hold. BetMGM followed, showing $5.9 million revenue from a $54.8 million handle for a 10.77% hold.
Next was ESPN Bet, which recorded $4 million in receipts from a $28.3 million handle, producing a 14.13% monthly hold. Fanatics landed fifth after reporting $2.9 million from $44.5 million, showing a 6.52% hold for June. The state collected $5 million in taxes from all operators, with nearly all of it ($5 million minus $70,549) coming from online betting.
