Young Woman Arrested for Promoting Online Gambling on Instagram

A young woman identified as Nab, aged 22, has been arrested by the North Hulu Sungai (HSU) Police after she allegedly shared a video promoting an online gambling site on her Instagram account. The arrest took place after police traced a social media post that contained a direct link to the gambling website.

According to reports, Nab uploaded the video on her Instagram account, @nabellaabelbell_, on Thursday, October 9, around 7:15 p.m. local time (WITA). The video contained a link to a gambling site with the address huskyslotvip.work. It also showed a screenshot of a game from the website and included text inviting followers to visit and play.

Police Confirm Gambling Link Was Active

Police began investigating soon after the post appeared. The HSU Police Criminal Research Unit checked the link and confirmed it was active and connected to an online gambling site. They quickly identified the person behind the post and arrested Nab in Sungai Malang Village, Central Amuntai District. She is accused of promoting online gambling content on social media, which is against Indonesian law.

HSU Police Chief AKBP Agus Nuryanto, through the Head of Public Relations Iptu Asep Hudzainur, confirmed the arrest. He said the police had detained a woman with the initials Nab for allegedly sharing gambling-related content on Instagram.

Suspect Claims She Was Given the Link

During questioning, Nab told police that she did not create the gambling content herself. She said she received the promotional materials and gambling link from a WhatsApp contact saved under the name Queen Fanta Slot. The materials were also shared through a messaging group called Bahan Husky, which appears to distribute gambling-related content for online promotion.

Investigators are now working to identify the people behind these accounts and groups. Police believe that Nab may have been encouraged or paid to promote the gambling site on her Instagram profile. However, further investigation is ongoing to determine whether she was directly involved in the operation of the site or only helped spread the link.

Evidence Seized During the Arrest

When Nab was arrested, police confiscated several items believed to be connected to the online gambling promotion. The evidence included an iPhone 11, the Instagram account used for the post, a DANA digital wallet account in her name, and clothing she allegedly wore while recording the promotional video.

Authorities say that the arrest serves as a warning to the public not to promote or share any gambling-related links on social media. Online gambling remains illegal in Indonesia, and anyone caught promoting it can face serious legal consequences.

Police confirmed they had arrested Nab in Sungai Malang Village for sharing a gambling link on Instagram. Authorities said the case shows their commitment to tackling online gambling promotions in Indonesia.
