SIPP PN Praya Website Restored After Gambling Ads Appear

The Case Tracking Information System’s official website, managed by the Praya District Court, was reportedly displaying unauthorised online gambling advertisements. However, this has been resolved.

The issue began late Monday night, June 9, 2025, when users accessing the SIPP portal via Google search, were redirected to external betting websites. By Tuesday morning, the court’s IT team had restored full access to the official domain.

Incident Timeline and Response

According to the court’s Public Information Officer, Ikhsan Suhariadi, the problem was first reported around 9 p.m. on Monday. He clarified that the court’s main server and official domain remained secure, and the unauthorised search engine content was from third-party sources. “Our IT team acted quickly and implemented corrective steps overnight. By morning, users could access the site normally without any inappropriate advertisements,” Ikhsan said.

He also guaranteed that the hearing schedules, case documents, and public resources remained intact and accessible via the court’s domain throughout the incident.

Impact on Public Service and Reputation

While the issue did not interfere with the court’s internal operations or delay any scheduled hearings, it raised concerns about digital security and the institution’s public image. The SIPP system remained operational and uncompromised. However, the appearance of gambling ads on a government website prompted criticism from social media users on how such content could appear on a judicial platform.

“I worry this may harm public trust in our institution,” Ikhsan stated. He further said that maintaining the integrity of the judicial system remains a top priority and that the court would take further steps to prevent similar incidents in the future. Despite the breach being minor, its potential to affect credibility prompted swift corrective action and open communication with the public.

Preventive Measures and Future Security

To avoid similar incidents, the Praya District Court plans to improve its cybersecurity protocols. This includes regular auditing of digital platforms, focusing on external links and how the website appears in search engines. Ikhsan also stated that the court will work closely with web security professionals to identify and prevent unauthorised content injections.

“This situation shows the need to monitor not only internal systems but also how our content is accessed and represented online. We are committed to keeping public-facing systems safe and free from harmful or inappropriate material,” he said.

With the issue resolved, users can continue relying on the SIPP portal to track legal proceedings and access court services securely. The Praya District Court reaffirmed its dedication to digital safety and maintaining public confidence in its online services.
