Gambling revenue in Pennsylvania reached a new record in November, hitting 623.1 million dollars. Much of the growth came from sports betting, showing that more people across the state are taking part in gambling.
The November total was 3.5 percent higher than the previous record set in May and 10.8 percent higher than November 2024. Analysts say the growth is driven by the popularity of sports betting and online gaming, showing that gambling continues to be an important part of Pennsylvania’s economy and a key source of state revenue.
Sports Betting Delivers Record Performance
Sports betting played a big role in Pennsylvania’s record-breaking gambling revenue in November. Strong performance in online and retail sports betting helped overall gambling revenue reach its highest level ever. High customer activity and steady interest in sports betting were important factors in the growth.
The growth in sports betting also boosted state tax income, with 35.4 million dollars collected in November. This makes sports wagering an important source of funding for public services and state programs.
The popularity of sports betting shows how it has become a major part of Pennsylvania’s gambling industry. With continued growth in online and retail platforms, it is expected to remain a key contributor to the state’s economy and a reliable source of revenue in the future.
Mixed Results Across Other Gambling Segments
While sports betting grew, other parts of Pennsylvania’s gambling market had mixed results. Land-based slots remained the biggest source of revenue at 201.2 million dollars, but this was slightly down 0.1 percent from last year. Retail table games also fell, with revenue dropping 3.6 percent to 74.7 million dollars.
Some smaller areas of gambling showed growth. Video game terminals at truck stops rose 8.9 percent to 3.5 million dollars, while fantasy sports revenue increased 2.8 percent to 2.5 million dollars, showing that interest in these sectors continues to grow despite declines in traditional casino activities.
Tax Revenue Boosts State Finances
Pennsylvania’s strong gambling performance also brought in significant tax revenue. In November, the state collected 260.9 million dollars from gambling, including 109.3 million dollars from iGaming, showing the continued popularity of online casino games.
Land-based slots contributed 101.4 million dollars in taxes, while retail table games added 12.6 million dollars. These numbers show that gambling is an important source of income for the state.
With sports betting and online gaming continuing to grow, Pennsylvania’s gambling industry looks strong heading into the end of the year. At the same time, slower growth in some land-based games shows that most of the increase is coming from digital and sports betting options.
