Paraguay’s gambling sector generated PYG18.7bn in January, according to official figures published by the National Commission of Games of Chance, CONAJZAR. The data, released through the updated portal of the National Directorate of Tax Revenues, DNIT, reflects growth in the country’s regulated market within 2026.
The total represents more than $2.7m in gambling related fees collected during the month, part of a comparative dataset tracking fiscal contributions from licensed operators.
Fees rise more than 23% year on year
January’s result marked a 23.4% increase compared with the same period in 2025. The improvement suggests sustained momentum following regulatory and operational restructuring in Paraguay’s gaming sector.
Authorities indicated that consistent fee generation across multiple verticals helped drive the growth. Rather than being driven by isolated peaks, the latest data points to a more stable collection pattern.
Record 2025 performance sets the tone for growth
The strong start to 2026 comes after Paraguay’s regulator reported its highest annual performance in more than a decade. Between January and December 2025, CONAJZAR collected a total of PYG215.9bn in fees, reflecting a 22.9% increase compared with 2024.
Monthly collections remained above PYG15bn throughout last year. This consistent performance positioned 2025 as the strongest year on record for gambling related revenue in the country.
Regulatory integration continues to shape outlook
Officials also noted that 2025 was the first full year operating under Paraguay’s updated gaming legislation, which integrated CONAJZAR into the DNIT framework. The structural shift has steadily strengthened oversight and improved fiscal transparency across the sector.
With January’s figures already exceeding expectations, the regulator believes the market may continue on an upward trajectory through 2026. While the year is still in its early stages, the latest data reinforces growth in Paraguay’s regulated gaming sector.
