Nevada Gaming Revenue Sees 3.5% Year-on-Year Increase in June 2025

Nevada’s gaming industry recorded a 3.5% rise in revenue for June 2025. According to the Nevada Gaming Control Board’s latest figures, this amounts to $1.3 billion.  The increase highlights a recovery from three consecutive months of revenue decline, driven by a strong performance in the state’s slot machine sector.

This category generated $899.4 million in June and multi-denomination slots were standout performers, with a 21.7% rise in revenue to $680.5 million. This surge in slot revenue helped boost the state’s overall Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR).

Mixed Results Across Nevada’s Key Markets

The Las Vegas Strip posted a 0.9% increase in revenue, totaling $765.3 million. Meanwhile, Downtown Las Vegas saw a more substantial 10.5% jump, reaching $73.2 million. However, the positive revenue growth across many regions was offset by a decline in visitation. According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), tourist arrivals fell year-on-year, raising concerns about the long-term sustainability of Nevada’s gaming revenue.

Other regions also reported positive revenue increases in June 2025. Washoe County, which includes Reno, saw a 4.7% increase to $91.4 million, with Reno’s revenue rising 5.6% to $67.8 million. Sparks experienced a smaller gain of 1.8%, reaching $13.7 million. Similarly, South Lake Tahoe and Carson Valley both saw modest growths of 2.6% and 4.9%, respectively. However, Elko County was the only region to report a decline, down 0.5% to $32.9 million.

Concerns Over Reduced Visitation and H2 2025 Outlook

Despite the overall increase in gaming revenue, the decline in tourist numbers is raising questions about the future performance of Nevada’s gaming industry. Visitor numbers have been consistently lower in recent months, which could hinder revenue growth in the second half of 2025. The tourism slowdown is particularly concerning, as it suggests that the state’s gaming sector may face headwinds despite strong performances in June.

Apollo’s Acquisition of IGT and Everi

In other news, the NGCB approved Apollo Global Management’s $6.3 billion acquisition of IGT and Everi, a deal that closed in July 2025. This acquisition will bring significant changes to the state’s gaming industry, potentially impacting both operators and players in the coming months. Though Nevada’s gaming revenue grew in June 2025, challenges from declining visitation present obstacles to sustaining this momentum in the latter half of the year.
