Lottery.com has chosen British actor and film producer Tamer Hassan to lead Sports.com Studios, a new group formed to create and share sports-centered movies, docuseries, and digital content. Since June 2023, Hassan has been on the firm’s board and brings over 25 years of experience in both film and television.
Matthew McGahan, acting as Chairman and CEO of Lottery.com, shared, “Tamer is a true powerhouse; his skills, his feel for telling stories, and his strong links to sports give him the best talent for Sports.com Studios.” He will oversee creative planning, securing funding for projects, and devising strategies to distribute the studio’s initial content. Some of the first projects now in pre-production will include a documentary series covering how a British football club was bought and revived, as well as inside looks at top athletes.
Lottery.com Expands into Global Sports Media with Acquisition of Nook Holdings and Launch of Sports.com Studios
A useful fact: On June 12th, Lottery.com made a deal to buy 90% of Nook Holdings, a Dubai sports incubator, paying $2.5 million. Hassan said, “I have always trusted the way sport and film can bring people together, motivate them, and show real stories about humans. Now, being President of Sports.com Studios, I feel thrilled to join these worlds and deliver new, true, and moving content for fans everywhere.”
At the start of this year, we learned that Lottery.com plans to set up additional Sports.com sites in Al Quoz, Riyadh, Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, and Greater Miami, thereby expanding the brand’s reach to become a comprehensive sports platform with multiple directions. The Sports.com Studios team will operate independently as a distinct unit within Lottery.com, reporting directly to McGahan. So far, the first production dates have not come out, but the business has confirmed that more project news will come soon.
