EA Entertainment and Sports Ltd. reported that HanzBet, one of its licensed brands, will cease business in Brazil starting July 31st. Founder Eduardo Peres stated that the company is running things in a real operational dictatorship. “We did not have any say in the brand closure or in decisions, as we were fully removed from management and financial areas and even from the board,” the executive explained. The company controlling the brand’s finances, also doing business with BateuBet and EsportivaBet, recently gave a final notice to customers.
Hanz.Bet.Br Said it Will Close on July 31, 2025
It told all players that the site will only let them withdraw balances before that day. All functions for new registrations, deposits, and gameplay are not working. The notice thanked users for their trust and partnership during the site’s activity. Support is available for questions. Founder Eduardo Peres then took to social media to share his side of the story, blaming EA Entertainment and Sports Ltd. for the crisis.
“Our company has served over three years in this market, and honestly, never once have we faced something similar. This new regulation left us at risk under a license where our partner alone controls the finances. We have contracts, but making them effective now needs a legal process, and people know that this takes time, while waiting, damage happens fast,” wrote Peres. He said customers are being harmed and cannot get their money: “The situation is tough: clients are afraid and cannot take money out, the shutdown is not agreed, and many problems now hurt not only our group, but also the brand’s users and the whole industry’s image.”
Full Statement from Eduardo Peres to Industry Partners and Colleagues
“I want to speak with respect for all in this sector, because we have worked here for several years, long before any official rules, so I decided to explain what is going on with Hanzbet. We have been working in this market for more than three years, and it is honestly the first time that something this disturbing has happened. Since regulation began, we have been left in a weak position, with a license controlled by one partner on the financial side.
We do have contracts, but acting on them means going to court, and everyone knows how slow the process is. Throughout this period, significant harm has been inflicted on everyone. EA Entertainment and Sports Ltd., the licensing company, acted alone and released the closure decision for the Hanzbet brand without informing or consulting us, and they removed us from the board and every aspect of administration and finance.
Then a message was sent to the website instructing customers to withdraw their money. This alone started to disrupt business. What is even worse, though, is that they also removed money from the bank, so no one could make withdrawals. So basically, customers got the message to earn money, but could not because the account was emptied. As of now, we believe the situation is very fragile: clients are scared and cannot access their money, the closure is happening without agreement, and significant harm is being caused to us, the clients, and the reputation of this sector. We will keep all records and plan to begin the proper legal steps.
