Genius Sports has reported strong performance from its Edge automated pricing platform after the 2025/26 football season ended. The company said the average football margin increased by 16.6% across European competitions for outsourced trading clients using Edge.
Introduced in 2024, Edge is Genius Sports’ automated pricing and optimisation solution for improving sportsbook profitability through machine learning and real-time betting analysis. The platform monitors betting activity and adjusts odds to strengthen pricing accuracy while reducing trading risk. During the season, 20 new operators across Europe, Latin America and Asia adopted the product.
Edge evaluates betting behaviour across multiple markets, including Match Result, Double Chance, Correct Score and Bet Builder products. According to Genius Sports, the technology generated some of its strongest results in major European competitions.
Performance data showed margin improvements of 34% in the UEFA Champions League, 22% in the Premier League, 21% in La Liga, 17% in Serie A and 16% in Ligue 1.
Official Data Partnerships Improve Trading Reliability
Beyond pricing performance, Genius Sports highlighted the impact of its official data partnerships on market uptime and trading operations. The company reported 98% uptime across Premier League coverage, with 158 matches exceeding 99% uptime.
According to Genius Sports, this provided operators with an average of five minutes and 19 seconds of additional market availability per match compared to alternative data providers. Italy’s Serie A recorded 97% uptime during the season, representing a 3% improvement year-on-year. Ligue 1 maintained uptime levels above 95%.
The company also completed the migration of all 89,000 in-play football events to new Monte Carlo simulation models. At the same time, Match State data was expanded to include player-level information, allowing operators to offer more detailed betting products.
New Player Markets Expand Betting Opportunities
Genius Sports improved its player proposition markets throughout the season. New betting options covering shots, shots on target, score or assist, fouls and goalkeeper saves were introduced across pre-match, in-play and Bet Builder products.
Additional markets for tackles and offsides will be added before the 2026/27 campaign. The company believes richer player data and enhanced modelling capabilities allow sportsbooks to create more personalized betting experiences while increasing engagement across live events.
These additions form part of its strategy to strengthen in-play betting and same-game multi products ahead of major sporting events.
BetVision Retention Figures Boost World Cup Expectations
Genius Sports also reported strong engagement metrics from BetVision, its interactive live-streaming platform. According to the company, BetVision generated a 22% increase in customer retention compared to traditional streaming experiences.
Retention improvements were particularly notable in Brazil’s Serie A at 53%, Turkey’s Super Lig at 35% and Italy’s Serie A at 20%. French Ligue 1 viewers also spent 22% longer consuming content through the platform.
“The 2025/26 season was another year of growth and investment across our football trading and engagement products,” Commercial Director James McKiernan said.
“Edge delivered significant margin improvements across football, while the expansion of BetVision, official data coverage and advanced modelling helped operators maximise uptime and deepen customer engagement.”
In preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, McKiernan added: “At the World Cup, operators need reliable pricing and content to perform at scale. We’re seeing strong uptake across outsourced trading, Edge and our expanded MultiBet product ahead of Thursday’s opening game.”
“Heading into the 2026/27 domestic season, we’re excited to invest further in our football product as we continue to lead the way.”
Following the 2025/2026 season, Genius Sports reported a strong growth margin and has now been adopted by 20 operators across Europe, Latin America and Asia. The company’s official data partnerships improved market uptimes for top European leagues. They also introduced new bet types across player prop markets. All these factors contributed to Genius Sport’s success.
