Bangladesh Bank sent orders to Mobile Financial Service providers. The providers must stop all money transfers for online gambling immediately. The central bank wrote to 13 MFS companies after the ICT Division gave instructions. Officials want strong action against this illegal activity.
The directive contains these requirements:
- MFS providers will find accounts that send gambling money.
- Companies must create special teams to watch money movements.
- AI systems will catch suspicious transfers when they happen.
- Citizens can report gambling through new complaint portals and phone lines.
