Playtech Expands iGaming Operations Into Sixth State Through Connecticut

Playtech has launched operations in Connecticut, expanding its presence to a sixth regulated iGaming state in the US. The move follows its entry into Delaware last year and reflects continued growth across licensed markets.

The expansion places Playtech in a mature but tightly controlled structure, which involves operating online gaming through tribal partnerships.

Although smaller than states like New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan, Connecticut offers a stable system and a consistent player base.

Competitive dynamics shaped by limited access

The US iGaming sector remains highly competitive, with suppliers competing for distribution through a small number of licensed operators. Connecticut’s model adds another layer of difficulty, as access is tied to agreements with tribal gaming entities.

This structure limits entry points while increasing the value of each partnership. Suppliers must secure relationships early to maintain relevance in the market.

The company now operates across multiple US jurisdictions, building a footprint that spreads risk while maintaining access to different player segments.

Strategic positioning supported by product offering

Playtech provides casino content, live dealer solutions and platform services to operators across regulated markets. The entry into Connecticut strengthens its distribution network and deepens its presence in North America.

Jonathan Doubilet said: “We are thrilled to expand our presence into a sixth US state. Connecticut is a well-established iGaming market with a vast player-base that we anticipate will engage strongly with our first-class offering. It’s a source of pride that our most valued partners continue to place trust in us to reach the high standards the US iGaming market demands.”

By extending into another regulated state, Playtech positions itself for future opportunities as more jurisdictions consider legalising online gaming.
