OpenBet Appoints Nikos Konstakis As Next Chief Executive

OpenBet has appointed Nikos Konstakis as its new chief executive, with the leadership change taking effect at the end of the current calendar year.

Konstakis will replace Jordan Levin, who will become chairman after more than five years as CEO. Levin will remain involved in developing OpenBet’s long-term strategy.

Konstakis will oversee the company’s strategy and daily operations after serving as president for the past nine months. He joined OpenBet in September 2021 and has since held positions including chief operating officer and group chief product officer.

His previous industry experience includes roles with SG Digital and Intralot, alongside an earlier period at OpenBet as vice president of trading.

“It’s a privilege to take on this role and lead the business at such an exciting time,” Konstakis said. “We have an exceptional customer base, a great team and significant opportunities ahead of us.

“My focus will be on building on those strengths, bringing even greater pace and focus to the business and making sure we continue to set the standard in the markets we serve.”

Konstakis takes over following several senior roles at OpenBet

Konstakis first worked at OpenBet between November 2017 and March 2018 before spending three-and-a-half years at SG Digital and returning in 2021.

Earlier, he spent more than eight years with Intralot, including periods as group director of betting and group head of product and trading. He also worked for eight years at Betting Company, now part of Intralot.

His promotion gives OpenBet a CEO with experience across its product, operational and trading functions.

Leadership transition follows acquisition and World Cup growth

OpenBet described the transition as coming during a period of “strong momentum”.

The company recently agreed to acquire lottery sportsbook supplier OmniLogic for an undisclosed amount. Konstakis said the acquisition would add “proven technology, specialist expertise and established customer partnerships” alongside OpenBet’s existing capabilities.

OpenBet also processed more than 175 million bets during the 2026 World Cup, representing $3bn in wagers.

The leadership change follows last year’s management buyout from Endeavour Holdings, completed during the US entertainment group’s take-private transaction.

Jordan Levin moves into chairman role after five years as CEO

Levin said Konstakis had been “instrumental” in OpenBet’s recent development and expressed “tremendous confidence” in his leadership.

“He knows our business, our customers and our technology inside out, and has played a central role in shaping our priorities and how we execute against them,” Levin said.

“With OpenBet on a strong footing and significant opportunities ahead, I’m excited to continue supporting Nikos and the wider team as we drive the next phase of OpenBet’s growth.”

OpenBet’s leadership change looks more like continuity than a reset, with Nikos Konstakis deeply involved in its product and operational direction. This move will test how continuity translates recent acquisitions, scale and sportsbook performance into stronger product differentiation.
