Retail casinos generated $58.7m in gross gaming revenue during January 2026, reflecting an 8.7% growth, according to a report by the New York State Gaming Commission. This was driven mainly by slot performance, while table games and retail sports wagering produced mixed results across properties. The state’s mobile sports betting operations produced a January 2026 handle of just over $2.4bn, while online sports betting revenue increased 1.5% for a total of $250.6m.
Slot growth offsets softer table game performance
Slot machines remained the primary revenue engine for land based properties, producing $42.8m during the month, a 14.6% rise from the previous year. Table games generated $14.6m, representing a 1.6% decline.
Del Lago Casino Resort recorded the strongest revenue growth, increasing 15.2% year-on-year to $12.7m. Rivers Casino delivered the highest total revenue figure with a 4.5% increase to $19m
Resorts World Catskills accrued $17.9m in revenue with a 13.8% boost, while Tioga Downs Casino’s revenue increased by 0.4% to reach $9.1m. Although Tioga Downs achieved slight overall growth, its table game revenue declined sharply by 15% to $944,476.
Furthermore, retail sports wagering generated $521,051 in revenue during January, marking a 45.5% decrease from the previous year. Total retail betting handle fell 33.5% to just over $4.6m.
Online sportsbooks deliver steady revenue gains
New York’s online sports betting sector recorded its highest monthly revenue since October 2025 with $250.6m during January 2026, increasing by 1.5% year-on-year. Despite higher revenue, total online handle declined slightly by 1.5% to $2.4bn.
FanDuel led the market with $113.7m in revenue, maintaining its position as the state’s top operator. DraftKings followed with $79.7m, while Fanatics Sportsbook secured the third highest revenue figure at just over $21.5m. BetMGM and Caesars Sportsbook generated $13.2m and $11.5m respectively.
