Nevada Gaming Revenue Dips By 1.6% In December To $1.4bn

The Nevada Gaming Control Board has reported total statewide gaming revenue of $1.4bn for December 2025, representing a 1.6% decline. Table games generated $480.4m during the month, increasing by 0.1%. 

Conversely, slot machines recorded a 2.4% drop in revenue to $958.2m. Among machine types, multi-denomination slots continued to dominate, producing $756.6m and posting a strong 10.4% increase. Baccarat remained the highest-earning table game but saw revenue fall sharply by 17% within the month.

Regional performance highlights uneven market conditions

Clark County area, home to the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown Las Vegas, reported a 2.2% decline in December revenue to $1.3bn. While the Las Vegas Strip’s revenue dropped by 6.1% to $827.7m, Downtown Las Vegas performed well with a 4.7% increase to $86.1m.

Other Clark County submarkets showed mixed but generally positive results. North Las Vegas posted a 5.3% boost to $26.6m, while Laughlin recorded growth of 9.8% to $37.9m. The Boulder Strip also stood out, reporting a 9% rise in revenue to $95.7m. Outside Clark County, Mesquite continued its steady expansion, with revenue climbing 11.2% to $17.8m.

Northern Nevada posts gains despite Reno softness

Washoe County achieved a 1.5% increase in December gaming revenue, reaching $91.4m. This growth came despite a 1.6% decline in Reno, where casinos generated $64.8m during the month. Sparks delivered the second highest revenue in the county, rising by 10.3% to $16.6m.

Elsewhere, South Lake Tahoe recorded a 7.5% increase to $20.8m, while Elko County posted growth of 1.9% to $34.9m. The Carson Valley Area reported a slight 0.5% decline but still contributed $11.7m to the state’s total revenue in December.

2025 Full-year results show modest growth in the Silver State

For full-year 2025, the state’s gaming revenue increased 1.2% to $15.8bn, according to the NGCB. The annual growth came despite reduced tourist visits across Las Vegas due to higher costs on the Strip and fewer influx from Canada.

Slot machines delivered a stronger performance over the year, with revenue rising 1.9% to $10.7bn. Table games slipped marginally by 0.1% to nearly $5.1bn. Baccarat and blackjack led table games with $1.4bn (3.4% increase) and $1.2bn (10.5% drop), respectively. 

Multi-denomination slots generated the highest revenue for FY2025 with $8.1bn due to a 13.6% rise. One-cent machines followed in second place with a 25.9% decrease to $1.8bn.  

Furthermore, Clark County revenue increased 0.9% for the year to $13.7bn, while Washoe County rose 3.4% to almost $1.1bn. Carson Valley area’s revenue also grew steadily with a 3.6% boost, accounting for $140.6m of the total FY2025 revenue.
