Genius Sports reached a new agreement with Italy’s Lega Serie A, gaining exclusive control of betting data and low-latency video streaming rights for every match in Serie A, Coppa Italia, and Supercoppa Italiana until the end of the 2028/29 season. With this deal, Genius Sports sends these official data and video feeds to its sportsbook partners all over the world using the BetVision platform. Part of the agreement includes access for Genius to use Serie A tracking data to improve broadcasts, make match reports, and analyse statistics for editorial work.
BetVision and AI-powered Features
A main feature is the AI-powered BetVision product from Genius Sports, which brings together live video, stats overlay, and betting in one interactive setup. BetVision first started with the NFL and now gets used in European football after this partnership with Serie A. Lega Serie A CEO Luigi de Siervo commented that data and technology are changing football, bringing new value for sport, broadcast and betting.
Genius Sports Secures Official Serie A Data and Streaming Rights in Major Partnership
He explained that the organisation is happy to confirm this new deal with Genius Sports, whose technology stands out, making them the only official source for Serie A data and worldwide streaming rights for betting through the 2028/29 season. In his message, de Siervo said the deal makes sure only official, checked data gets used, so it protects club revenue, prevents misuse and helps the fans. Mark Locke, CEO of Genius Sports, shared that the company values this new partnership with Serie A, an important football league in the biggest sports betting market in Europe.
He said that with the Serie A deal, Genius Sports now holds top rights across global sports betting, covering NFL, Premier League, and leading Italian football. This Serie A deal is in addition to Genius Sports’ latest agreement with the European Leagues Association, covering exclusive data rights for more than 8,000 matches in 46 different football competitions. That earlier partnership, revealed only days before, included 18 leagues and saw the AI-driven GeniusIQ platform used for tracking, officiating and performance analysis across events.
