Century Entertainment has delayed publication of its FY2026 financial results as auditor Crowe (HK) CPA Limited continues a detailed review of the company’s online gaming platform.
In a filing dated 31 July, the Hong Kong-listed company said it expects to release its annual results by the end of August, missing the original 30 June deadline. The audit is examining the platform’s systems architecture, data integrity, access controls and operational continuity.
Century said additional time is required because the review involves the first large-scale integration of cross-border technical platforms supporting its online gaming business. The company said technical standards across different systems must be aligned, documentation reconciled and audit trails verified before the process can be completed.
Century also stressed that the delay relates to the ongoing audit instead of any dispute with Crowe.
HKEX requires stronger controls before trading can resume
The reporting delay follows the Hong Kong Stock Exchange imposing further requirements before Century’s suspended shares can return to trading. HKEX has instructed the company to publish all outstanding financial results, resolve audit-related matters and commission an independent review of its internal control systems.
Century must also demonstrate that any material weaknesses identified through that review have been addressed. Its controls must be sufficient to support regulatory compliance, financial reporting and proper operational record-keeping.
The exchange said Century is responsible for preparing and implementing its own resumption plan and warned that additional conditions could be introduced if circumstances change.
Trading in Century Entertainment has been suspended since 26 June 2025 and will stay halted until the exchange is satisfied that all relevant listing rules and resumption requirements have been met.
WPT accreditation issue stays unresolved as earnings improve
The audit also comes while there are still questions around Century’s Philippine technology partner, World Platinum Technologies.
Earlier this year, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation confirmed that WPT’s Gaming System Administrator accreditation was cancelled in April 2026 because of regulatory violations. PAGCOR has not publicly disclosed the nature of those breaches.
Century has not clarified WPT’s current accreditation status or whether the cancellation has affected its online gaming operations. It has also made no direct link between PAGCOR’s action, the platform audit and the reporting delay.
Despite the uncertainty, Century said the business generated unaudited pre-tax earnings of at least HK$45 million between April and June.
Century Entertainment has stalled the publishing of its FY2026 results due to the audit of its system’s architecture, data integrity, and access controls. The authorities have demanded extra requirements and verification of its technology partner’s regulatory state.
