The Brazilian Ministry of Sports and Sportradar Group AG (NASDAQ: SRAD) signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement (ACT) focused on the integrity of sports betting in Brazil. Both parties share data regarding the betting market and collaborate to prevent match-fixing under this partnership.
The Ministry of Sports receives alerts about unusual activity thanks to Sportradar’s Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS), a system recognised globally. Training and educational programs are provided by Sportradar to Ministry staff so that they understand how to check, notice, and review suspicious activities in sports. Officials from the Ministry of Finance, who also joined a recent ACT with Sportradar, participated in the first workshop on May 15.
André Fufuca, Brazil’s Minister of Sport, said the agreement is a serious step against match-fixing in domestic sport. He emphasised that when honesty, regulations, and transparent procedures are talked about in sports, integrity should be maintained as a priority. The agreement hands the Ministry methods necessary to fight match-fixing and boosts belief in Brazil’s sporting events. Stakeholders such as athletes, clubs, organisations, fans, and viewers get assurance about the results’ legitimacy and the road ahead for Brazilian sports.
Andreas Krannich, EVP of Integrity and Regulatory Services for Sportradar, said that collaboration with the Ministry is a significant factor in safeguarding sports integrity in Brazil. Sportradar utilises advanced technology and its reputation as a sports integrity leader to battle match-fixing. Krannich noted that safeguarding sports calls for both government and private company collaboration. Under this arrangement, Sportradar assures that it will endeavour to establish a safer environment for Brazilian sports for athletes and associated groups.
This ACT follows Sportradar’s previous agreements to safeguard integrity in Brazil. Gomes State Attorney’s Office, Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV), and Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) are also collaborating with Sportradar. Soccer federations in 17 states of Brazil are also part of it, creating a robust framework for sports integrity across the country.
