Betsson Declines to Follow Through with Acquisition in the Netherlands

Betsson stopped the process to buy Holland Gaming Technology Ltd and Holland Power Gaming B.V because the company wants to look at other business chances.

The acquisition plan was made public by Betsson in a press release on 19 February 2024, giving details of the deal for Holland Gaming Technology Ltd and Holland Power Gaming B.V. According to that release, approval from the Dutch Gambling Authority was needed before they could finish the acquisition. The Dutch Gambling Authority did not decide in time, so Betsson chose to reverse the deal after the deadline.

Delay from Dutch Regulator Triggers Withdrawal

Now, Betsson will cancel the transaction, so Holland Gaming Technology Ltd and Holland Power Gaming B.V go back to the sellers, and Betsson receives back the purchase money minus a break fee, which means Betsson will be repaid EUR 26.7 million in total. The company confirmed this reversal will not bring any important change to the Group’s final income statement.
