A Woman From South Carolina Bought a Lottery Ticket after She Asked for Luck

She said to the South Carolina Education Lottery that she felt her hands trembling while she put her signature on the ticket. The woman shared with lottery staff that she had already turned in her ticket and used part of her money to give to charity. She believed she made the win happen by praying, as she told her story to officials.

The Winning Ticket

She came from the Midlands of South Carolina and bought a $20 scratch-off ticket at a gas station she had not visited before. On her trip down the road, she spoke of how she prayed for a win and said she received what she wanted. She chose her scratch-off at City Fuel & Food gas station on Bush River Road in Columbia, and she scratched each area to reveal both a “MONEYBAG” symbol and the numbers “2MIL”.

Claiming the Prize

She won a prize of $2 million from her ticket. After discovering this, she let the lottery authorities know that she had left the shop and sat in her car because she felt shocked. She told officials her hands were shaking as she wrote her name on the ticket, and that winning felt unreal. For selling the winning ticket, City Fuel & Food Inc. in Columbia received a $20,000 commission.

The woman collected her prize and mentioned giving a part of her money away to charity. The odds of getting the top $2 million prize are 1 in 1,536,000, as per information from the South Carolina Education Lottery. They have confirmed there is only one remaining prize worth $2 million in this game.
