Online Gaming Gains Legal Framework in Equatorial Guinea

The Government started work with a licensing management company to build a legal structure for online gaming.

Key Points

  • Regulation will guide online gaming in Equatorial Guinea.
  • Mascott Capital Partners has received the master licence.
  • A new legal plan for online gaming now exists in Equatorial Guinea because the Government created it.

New Licensing Framework Introduced

The Licensing Framework for Online Gaming, Online Betting and Online Casino sets rules for worldwide gaming, keeps honesty, protects people who play and uses the best compliance standards. These rules show how to apply, what to follow, what money needs to be paid, and other steps.

Mascott Capital Partners, the licence management company, has received the main online licence. This means international companies can use Mascott Capital Partners’ platform to send their license applications. The company and its official partners will run the proprietary system to keep all global licences organised at one point.

Government’s Goal for the iGaming Sector

Minister of Tourism and Tourism Infrastructure of Equatorial Guinea, H.E. Antonio-Pedro Oliveira Burupu, stated at the launch, “Bringing online gaming, betting, and casinos to Equatorial Guinea is one of the top actions gaming regulators have taken here, and Mascott Capital Partners will help with digital licence applications.”

He said this move helps to show Equatorial Guinea as a base for remote online gaming and casinos, grows the country by attracting foreign investment into digital, and makes players trust iGaming under national rules. This makes Equatorial Guinea a good choice for international iGaming companies.
