According to an official familiar with the investigation, as revealed to a local news agency, while Telegram generally complies with India’s legal framework, the authorities are deeply troubled by the sheer volume of gambling advertisements on the platform. If Telegram fails to address this issue effectively, there’s a real possibility that the app could be blocked in India, a significant market for the messaging service.
