14,750 Bets Per Second: New Super Bowl Record

On Sunday (February 11), the United States (Nevada) hosted the most important sporting event of the year for the country — the final match of the National Football League — the Super Bowl. And now the first statistics on the bet for this event have appeared:

1. At its peak, users made 14,750 bets per second (2 times more than in 2023). The peak came in the last minutes before the start of the match;

2. In 28 markets where sports betting is legal, 8,500,000 (+15% YoY) new users were registered. And more than 1,700,000 registered in the 2 weeks before the event;

3. Moreover, over the entire season, bookmakers received more than 13,700,000 new users (+28% YoY).

The numbers are truly impressive. This is an estimate only for the legal part of the market. Of course, no one can calculate the black market fully, but even in the States, it is obviously huge. Financial data has not yet been published, but the forecasts were no less impressive.
