RWS Strengthens Management with Si Chen Appointment as COO

Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) revealed that Si Chen joins as COO from 1 December 2025, while the resort pushes forward with RWS 2.0. Chen held senior positions at integrated resorts throughout Asia before this new role. Daily operations fall under Chen’s responsibility as he helps CEO Lee Shi Ruh implement business strategies and improve guest experience.

RWS explained that this appointment strengthens leadership renewal and maintains operational performance levels. Industry reports recently confirmed Chen’s exit from Inspire Entertainment Resort in South Korea, where Gyubum Ko takes over. RWS 2.0 represents a S$6.8 bn(US$5.09bn) redevelopment project running until 2030 with new attractions, hotels and waterfront expansion.

Chen Joins RWS with Two Decades of Global Gaming Expertise

Chen brings almost 20 years of international gaming and hospitality experience to RWS. His background includes leading operations, marketing and strategic initiatives at various Asian properties. CEO Lee Shi Ruh welcomes Mr Si and expects his contributions during RWS’s transformation and growth journey.

The group continues RWS 2.0 redevelopment while regional tourism and gaming competition increase. Genting confirmed Universal Studios Singapore’s Minion Land opened earlier this year. New Singapore Oceanarium and a luxury hotel will follow as part of the development. The redevelopment targets a wider range of international visitors from Southeast Asia and China, particularly.
