FanDuel has secured a new market access partnership with Delaware North, strengthening its footprint in West Virginia. The deal will allow FanDuel to offer online sports betting and iGaming through Delaware North’s Mardi Gras Casino & Resort in Cross Lanes.
The move enhances FanDuel’s presence in the state, where it already operates the retail sportsbook at the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs. The brand gains an additional entry point into the West Virginia market by teaming up with Delaware North and expanding digital offerings in regulated states.
Leaders Express Optimism Over Partnership
Commenting on the announcement, Jonathan Edson, Senior Vice President of Business Development at FanDuel, highlighted the value of the partnership. “Delaware North has been a respected name in gaming and hospitality for decades and they are an ideal partner as we continue to operate in West Virginia,” Edson said.
Lee Terfloth, Delaware North’s Chief Interactive Gaming Officer, echoed that enthusiasm. “We love working with FanDuel and are very proud to be partnered together in West Virginia. This partnership represents the best of what Delaware North strives for, bringing trusted, innovative experiences to our customers, and FanDuel is an incredible ally in that mission.”
The collaboration blends FanDuel’s technological expertise with Delaware North’s long-standing presence in the state’s gaming and hospitality sector. This ensures companies capitalise on the growing demand for online betting and iGaming services.
Wider Industry Context
The deal arrives at a time of rapid expansion for FanDuel in the US. Earlier this month, the operator was reported to have agreed to pay around 5 million dollars to the Jacksonville Jaguars following revelations that the team’s former financial manager had embezzled 22 million dollars. Despite the financial setback, FanDuel has continued to grow its operations and diversify its offerings.
In a separate development, FanDuel recently collaborated with CME Group to launch regulated prediction markets in the United States. This initiative reflects the company’s interest in broadening its product range beyond traditional sports betting, appealing to a wider audience of consumers interested in innovative ways to engage with market trends.
Delaware North Strengthens Digital Reach
For Delaware North, the partnership with FanDuel represents another step toward expanding its digital footprint while maintaining its strong base in land-based gaming properties. The company operates across multiple states, with facilities that combine hospitality, entertainment, and gaming. By adding an online sports betting and iGaming component through FanDuel, Delaware North boosts its customer offering in West Virginia, where the appetite for regulated digital wagering continues to grow.
The agreement underlines the evolving relationship between traditional casino operators and leading online platforms. As states continue to regulate digital wagering, partnerships such as this one are expected to shape the future of the industry by blending trusted land-based experiences with cutting-edge online services.
