The two leading business-to-business events attracted participants from 186 countries, generating 121,000 overnight stays, and supported numerous businesses, including hotels, restaurants, transportation, venues, and event production, with an average daily spend of €449 by non-local attendees.
Employment Effects of Hosting ICE and iGB Affiliate 2025
An input-output model was used to calculate the direct, indirect, and induced economic effects from Barcelona hosting ICE and iGB Affiliate 2025. The analysis measured employment effects, capturing the created and supported jobs from hosting the exhibitions. Direct impacts came from organising, exhibiting, and attending in the Barcelona–Catalonia economy. Indirect impacts referred to knock-on effects on the Barcelona–Catalonia economy, including activities from suppliers and service providers benefiting from the direct impact. Induced impacts referred to activity generated within the Barcelona–Catalonia economy from wages spent by people employed directly or indirectly by the 2025 events.
