Davido’s Music Journey: From Start to Global Reach
The artist known as Davido was born David Adedeji Adeleke on November 21, 1992. He started life in Atlanta, Georgia, then grew up in Lagos, Nigeria. His father is billionaire Adedeji Adeleke, and his late mother Vero Adeleke was a lecturer. Davido is the youngest child in a family of five.
His education began at British International School in Lagos and, at age sixteen, continued in the USA. He attended Oakwood University in Alabama, where he studied business. Instead of following a business career, Davido bought music production tools, started composing beats, and formed KB International with his cousins B-Red and Sina Rambo.
A move to London allowed him to develop his singing skills. He returned to Nigeria in 2011 to complete his education. At his father’s request, Davido graduated from Babcock University in 2015 with a degree in music.
Achieving Global Fame
Davido introduced his first song, “Back When,” in 2011. The single “Dami Duro,” released in 2012, raised his visibility across Nigeria. That same year, Davido launched his debut album “Omo Baba Olowo” and won Best Newcomer at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
He has since released many singles and collaborated with well-known performers such as Tiwa Savage, Chris Brown, Lil Baby, Nicki Minaj, and Nas. His albums “A Good Time” (2019), “A Better Time” (202), and “Timeless” (2023) each achieved millions of global streams and downloads. Besides music, Davido played roles in movies like “John Zerebe” and “Coming to America 2.” Davido’s DMW Foundation funds efforts in education, healthcare, and youth support across Nigeria.
Davido received two 2024 Grammy nominations: Best Global Music Album for “Timeless” and Best African Music Performance for “Unavailable.” The album “5ive,” which premiered April 18, 2025, includes 17 tracks and features contributions from Alhanislam, Victoria Monét, Becky G, Musa Keys, 450, Tayc, Dadju, YG Marley, Odumodublvck, and Chike. It reached the top spot on the TurnTable Nigerian Albums chart and recorded millions of plays.

The iGaming Industry: Why it’s Growing Fast?
Growth in iGaming comes from several key trends. Many more people own smartphones and have reliable internet access, allowing participation in gaming from nearly anywhere. Live streaming, instant digital payments, and secure cryptocurrency options provide a seamless user journey.
Countries are starting to update gambling laws, opening new legal pathways for online operators. This legal clarity brings more trust and wider market access. Online sites now deliver a variety of games—slots, live dealer tables, and sports betting—all accessible via personal devices.
Celebrity partnerships, such as the one between Stake and Davido, continue to accelerate iGaming’s reach, making the market visible to broader communities around the world.
